Three years ago I didn’t even know where Hungary was on a map.
Two years ago I (virtually) met my only friend from Hungary.
We have a language exchange almost every week.
One year ago I started learning Hungarian.
The plan is to go to Hungary next year, so now I’m trying to learn as much as I can in the meantime.
Learning a language from the beginning is hard. I have to accept that. But if you have a strong motivation, at least you will have the willpower to do it.
To be honest, sometimes I just get frustrated and stop studying for one or two weeks, but then I talk with my friend and somehow I recover the desire to learn, and I restart my studies.
A huge motivation is not mandatory for learning a language. Some people do it just because they have to, not because they want to.
But it’s way easier,and especially satisfying when you are learning for a specific reason.
I like to work with people who have the same philosophy, so I only work with students who really want to learn Spanish. Students with a powerful motivation.
